ST PETERSBURG Russia June 18 (Reuters) – President Vladimir Putin on Thursday refused to comment on whether Israel and the United States might target Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He stated that people in Iran are rallying behind their leaders in Tehran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested that Israel’s military actions might lead to regime change in Iran. On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. was aware of Khamenei’s “hiding” location but clarified that Washington did not plan to target him “for now.”
