Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called on Ulema and religious scholars to play a leading role in strengthening unity across the Muslim world, stressing that collective harmony is essential for overcoming the challenges facing the Ummah today.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the First International Qira’at Competition in Islamabad, Dar said that every Muslim country possesses its own unique strengths, and that bringing these capabilities together can turn the Muslim Ummah into a formidable and resilient global force.
He emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and clearly rejects terrorism in all its forms. Dar urged Muslim states to work jointly to eradicate terrorism, describing it as a responsibility commanded by Allah.
Referring to the renewed wave of terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister said the nation remains determined and unwavering in its resolve to eliminate the threat once and for all.
Dar also commended the Ministry of Religious Affairs for successfully hosting the international competition and bringing Qaris from various Muslim countries to Pakistan. He suggested that future editions should include even more participants from across the globe.
Encouraging the young Qaris present at the event, Dar urged them to deepen their relationship with the Holy Quran and continue spreading its message with devotion.
Before concluding, he thanked the delegates and envoys from participating nations for contributing to the strengthening of Muslim unity and fostering closer ties among brotherly countries.
