UAE Denies Visa Ban Claims, Confirms Normal Processing for Pakistani Applicants

KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consulate in Karachi has firmly rejected recent claims suggesting that Pakistani citizens are being denied visas, calling the reports “completely false.” The Consul General, Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, clarified that visa processing continues as usual across all categories.

Speaking to Geo News, Alremeithi noted that demand for UAE visas has reached record levels, with some visa types now requiring advance bookings of over a month — the highest surge the consulate has experienced in three years. He emphasised that all visa categories, including tourist, business, and work visas, are being issued without any restrictions.

The clarification came after Additional Interior Secretary Salman Chaudhry reportedly informed the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights that the UAE was not issuing visas to Pakistani passport holders and that only blue or diplomatic passport holders were being considered. The UAE official firmly denied these assertions, stating that no ban exists and that Pakistani applicants continue to receive regular visa services.

Alremeithi highlighted that the UAE remains committed to facilitating travel for Pakistanis, and the recent surge in applications reflects the ongoing demand for entry into the country.
