Pakistan has achieved a major breakthrough in its technology sector, as IT exports to the United Arab Emirates reached a record $376 million during the fiscal year 2024–25 the highest ever between the two countries.
The milestone was announced by Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi at the inauguration of the Pakistan Pavilion during Expand North Star 2025 in Dubai one of the world’s most prestigious technology and innovation events.
According to Ambassador Tirmizi, Pakistan’s overall IT exports have now surged to $3.76 billion globally, underscoring the country’s strong performance in software development, IT-enabled services, and tech startups expanding into international markets.
He attributed this remarkable growth to Pakistan’s young, skilled workforce and the government’s forward-looking digital policies, which have provided a solid foundation for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Pakistan’s participation in the Dubai event aims to forge deeper connections with UAE investors and enterprises, particularly in high-growth areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, and software solutions.
Industry experts believe this achievement not only reflects Pakistan’s rising global competitiveness but also signals its emergence as a regional hub for technology outsourcing and innovation. With an increasing number of initiatives supporting digital entrepreneurship, experts predict that export figures could climb even higher in the years ahead.
This landmark success reinforces Pakistan’s vision of evolving into a digitally empowered economy, showcasing its expanding influence in the Middle East’s rapidly growing tech ecosystem.
