KARACHI, August 23, 2025: Police in Jamshed Quarters have taken a man into custody after a disturbing video showing him assaulting a woman in the rain went viral on social media.
According to officials, the incident took place in Jamshed Town where the accused, identified as Mohibullah, was caught on camera misbehaving with a woman. Once the footage circulated online, police were able to trace his identity and move swiftly to arrest him. A case has been registered on behalf of the state, and the suspect is now under investigation.
This is not the first such case in recent weeks. In July, a shocking incident emerged from Multan’s Mustafa Colony, where a man named Adil, son of Ghafoor, allegedly harassed a young girl walking on the street. The assault, captured on CCTV, led police to raid his hideout. During the operation, the accused opened fire and was injured when police returned fire before placing him under arrest.
More recently, on August 15 in Pir Mahal, Punjab, another video surfaced online showing two men on a motorcycle attacking a girl on the road. The viral clip sparked outrage, prompting police to launch a search. The suspects were later traced and arrested.
These back-to-back incidents have once again highlighted growing concerns over women’s safety in public spaces, with rights activists calling for stricter enforcement of laws and greater accountability to curb such crimes.
