ISLAMABAD:
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that the suffering of Palestinians should serve as a wake-up call for the Muslim world and beyond, cautioning that the cycle of oppression will not stop at Gaza.
In a strongly worded statement, Asif said the blood of Gaza’s children and Muslims was being shed mercilessly, but he firmly believed that Allah would not let such sacrifices go unanswered. “Today Palestinians are the target, but the time is not far when others will face the same fate. No one should remain complacent. Today it is Gaza; tomorrow, it will be someone else,” he stressed.
Recalling Pakistan’s past military history, the minister said the country had defeated an adversary five times its size, pointing to wars against India. “It was our faith in Allah and our spirit that enabled us to defeat a far stronger enemy,” he said, adding that material strength alone was not enough.
Turning his attention to the Arab world, Asif remarked that while Arab nations possess advanced technology and state-of-the-art fighter jets, true strength must come from within. “They can buy every form of technology, but faith and conviction are what truly make the difference. They are our friends and brothers, and Pakistan stands ready to support them,” he said.
He went on to criticize Western politics, which he argued had been captured by Zionist influence. “American lawmakers claim to represent their people, yet they act at the behest of a third power. This is a mockery of democracy,” he said, noting that in recent months global public opinion had shifted significantly due to Palestinian sacrifices.
Asif asserted that Israel was becoming increasingly isolated on the world stage. He highlighted the growing role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which he described as a “new alliance and emerging power” that would shape global politics. He also pointed out that even Western media, once tightly controlled, was beginning to question Israel’s actions.
