In a remarkable achievement for Pakistan, three schoolgirls from Karachi have made headlines by winning top positions at the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) 2025 Sindh Nationals, earning a coveted spot at the global finals to be held in Singapore this November.
The team, proudly calling themselves the “PowerPuff Innovators,” is made up of three eighth-grade students from Haque Academy Emaan Zehra, Anaya Anas, and Ayra Rizvi all between the ages of 12 and 13.
Competing in the Future Innovators Junior category, the trio clinched first place at the Sindh Nationals and also walked away with the Girls in STEM Award. On the national stage, where 51 teams from Punjab and Sindh competed, they secured an impressive second overall position.
Their winning project an AI-powered financial literacy and management robot is designed to help users make smarter purchasing decisions. Equipped with a smart camera system, the robot promotes financial discipline and consumer awareness, addressing a challenge that is highly relevant in today’s world.
The World Robotics Olympiad is one of the most prestigious international robotics competitions, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills among young innovators. This year’s theme, “The Future of Robots,” tasked students with designing solutions to real-world challenges through robotics.
The PowerPuff Innovators will be the sole team representing Pakistan at the WRO Global Finals 2025. Their success not only highlights the growing importance of STEM education in the country but also showcases how young Pakistani girls are breaking barriers and stepping confidently into fields traditionally dominated by men. Their journey stands as a proud example of what innovation, teamwork, and determination can achieve and a reminder that the future of robotics in Pakistan is already being shaped by its youngest minds.
