The goal of the meetings appears to be persuading Iran to focus its nuclear program on non-military uses.
Germany, France, and Britain’s foreign ministers plan to sit down for nuclear discussions with Iran’s foreign minister this Friday in Geneva, according to a German diplomatic source shared with Reuters.
Before meeting Iran’s representative, the ministers will gather with the EU’s lead diplomat, Kaja Kallas, at Germany’s permanent office in Geneva. Afterward, they will hold a joint session with Iran’s foreign minister, the source revealed.
The talks happening with coordination from the United States, aim to get Iran to provide a solid guarantee to use its nuclear program for civilian purposes.
