KARACHI — Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has booked his place in the final of the World Athletics Championships after an impressive display in the qualifying round.
The 27-year-old athlete opened strongly with a throw of 76.99 meters. He followed it up with a more modest 74.17 meters in his second attempt but bounced back brilliantly in his third try, recording a massive 85.28 meters that secured his spot in the final.
Arshad, who has consistently been Pakistan’s leading track and field hope, will now compete in the championship final scheduled for September 18. Some of the sport’s top names, including Germany’s Julian Weber, are also eyeing glory in the same event.
Speaking after qualification, Arshad Nadeem expressed gratitude for the support he has received and urged fans back home to continue praying for his success on the world stage.
The much-anticipated final is expected to draw significant attention, especially as it marks the first major face-off between top throwers from India and Pakistan since their last encounter earlier this year.
