Police reported that the unidentified bodies of a man and a woman were found on Monday in the China Port area of Karachi.
According to South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza, the deceased individuals appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old, but their identities have not yet been confirmed.
“There are bullet marks on the bodies,” the DIG stated, adding that two 9mm bullet casings were also recovered from the crime scene.
“Evidence is being collected from the site,” he said. “Identification and further investigation are underway.”
China Port — also known as Oyster Rocks or the South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT) breakwater — is a man-made structure near Clifton beach, built by China to protect the port from waves. It’s a popular spot for locals with views of cargo ships, cranes, and the sea.
Just last month, a partially decomposed body of a young man was discovered in Karachi’s Scheme 33.
According to Sachal Station House Officer (SHO) Aurangzeb Khattak, the body, believed to be in his mid-20s, was found in bushes outside the Karachi University Teachers’ Society near the Superhighway. The body showed signs of torture and head injuries.
The SHO suspected the body might have been dumped there by someone traveling in a vehicle. It was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but the victim’s identity couldn’t be determined immediately.
In February, the body of a trader who had reportedly been kidnapped was found at Seaview.
Last year, the bodies of a man and a woman were found in a pond inside Clifton’s Bagh Ibne Qasim on the second day of Eidul Azha. Police said the victims, aged between 28 and 30, appeared to have drowned two days earlier.
