ISLAMABAD — A tragic shooting late Tuesday night left two people dead outside the well-known Loafology bakery in Islamabad’s Blue Area, directly across from the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) Tower.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims were sitting near the bakery when unidentified assailants opened fire, hitting both men multiple times, including in the head. They died instantly before any help could arrive.
Police teams and members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit reached the location within minutes, sealing off the area to collect shell casings and other forensic evidence. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem examination, while investigators continued to piece together the events leading up to the attack.
Officials say initial findings indicate that the shooting does not appear to be linked to a robbery, raising suspicions that it might have been a targeted assault. Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the victims or the motive behind the attack, but an investigation is underway.
The shocking incident has sparked fear among residents and shopkeepers in the area, with many calling for tighter security measures in one of Islamabad’s busiest commercial zones.
