Karachi, August 27, 2025 – A tragic road accident in Karachi’s Millat Town has claimed the life of a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, once again raising questions about the growing menace of reckless heavy vehicles on city roads.
The victim, identified as little Aun Muhammad, was riding on a motorcycle with his uncle Salman when a dumper, coming from the wrong side of the road, rammed into them at the Millat Town intersection. The impact proved fatal for the toddler, who died on the spot.
Police confirmed that a case will be registered at the Al-Falah Police Station. Residents of the area expressed anger, saying such accidents are becoming alarmingly frequent in Karachi, where dumpers, water tankers, and speeding buses continue to endanger lives despite repeated outcries for stricter traffic enforcement.
This incident follows a string of deadly road mishaps reported just a day earlier. Within the span of an hour on Korangi Road, two people including a woman lost their lives, while another woman sustained injuries in separate crashes.
In one horrific accident near the NADRA Mega Center, CCTV footage showed a speeding truck crushing a motorcyclist and colliding with a rickshaw. The rider died instantly. In another tragedy near Qayyumabad, a female pedestrian was struck and killed by a bus.
Police said the drivers involved in those two accidents have been taken into custody and investigations are underway. Meanwhile, Aun Muhammad’s death has left his family and the community devastated, with many calling for an urgent crackdown on reckless heavy vehicles in Karachi before more innocent lives are lost.
