PM Shehbaz Sharif Receives Bahrain’s Highest State Honour, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

During his official visit to Bahrain, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was awarded the country’s highest state honour the Order of Bahrain (First Class) in a ceremony led by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This accolade is reserved for international leaders and reflects the deep respect and enduring friendship between Pakistan and Bahrain.

In their discussions, both leaders emphasized the long-standing relationship between their nations, highlighting years of mutual support and cooperation across multiple sectors. PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude to the Bahraini government for their warm hospitality and acknowledged Bahrain’s efforts in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence values cherished by both countries.

A remarkable historical connection also came to light during the meeting: King Hamad noted that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan’s founder, had served as Bahrain’s legal representative prior to Pakistan’s independence a fact that the kingdom takes pride in and which further strengthens bilateral bonds.

The leaders concluded on a positive note, expressing optimism for deeper collaboration in trade, investment, development, and people-to-people relations. The honour bestowed upon PM Shehbaz not only symbolizes trust and friendship but also signals Bahrain’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan to foster mutual growth and stability in the region.
