Pakistan’s top leadership has remained actively engaged on the international stage, reflecting a clear focus on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties worldwide. Between March 2024 and October 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif undertook 34 foreign trips, averaging nearly one visit per month, according to official records. These visits underline the government’s push to promote trade, investment, and regional cooperation.
Saudi Arabia emerged as the Prime Minister’s most frequent destination, with eight official visits, highlighting the country’s enduring political and economic partnership with Pakistan. China, the United States, and Egypt each hosted him twice for high-level meetings, investment forums, and diplomatic discussions. Other key stops included Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia.
Each trip prioritized strengthening cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and technology while positioning Pakistan as a reliable and proactive partner in regional and global initiatives.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari also maintained an active international schedule, completing three foreign visits during the same period. His travels, including trips to Turkmenistan and China, focused on advancing economic and energy partnerships, as well as discussions on regional connectivity projects.
Together, these diplomatic efforts underscore Pakistan’s renewed commitment to building robust international relationships, attracting investment, and enhancing the country’s role in regional and global affairs. The consistent frequency of visits by both the Prime Minister and President reflects Islamabad’s strategy of deepening alliances and creating new opportunities for trade and economic growth.
