Pleasant Change in Karachi Weather as Light Showers Cool the City

Karachi woke up to a refreshing change this morning as light showers and cloudy skies rolled in, bringing a much-needed break from the usual heat. Areas like Lyari, Maripur Road, Clifton, and nearby localities experienced light drizzle, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere across the city.

According to the weather department, Karachi is expected to stay under partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours, with chances of more drizzle — especially in the early mornings and evenings. Winds from the southwest are currently blowing at around 10 km/h, and the temperature is likely to peak at 36°C today, with humidity hovering around 75%.

While Karachi enjoys a cooler spell, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for other regions of the country. From June 20 to 23, areas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and KP are expected to be hit by strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms.

The NDMA has urged people in those regions to take precautions — especially those living in mud houses or near unstable structures. They’ve also advised the public to park their vehicles in safe places and avoid unnecessary travel during storms due to limited visibility risks.

Emergency departments and relevant authorities have been asked to stay on high alert and ensure all necessary preparations are in place. Meanwhile, citizens are encouraged to stay updated through official weather bulletins and the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App.

For now, Karachiites can enjoy the light showers and cool breeze — a welcome relief before the summer heat returns.
