ISLAMABAD: Pakistani consumers can expect some relief at the fuel pump, as petroleum prices are projected to drop starting December 1, 2025, following a sharp decline in international oil rates.
According to industry sources, petrol prices may fall by Rs. 3.75 per litre, while high-speed diesel could see a reduction of Rs. 6.10 per litre. Kerosene prices are also likely to decrease by Rs. 0.73 per litre, and light diesel oil may become cheaper by Rs. 6.35 per litre.
Oil companies have completed their pricing calculations and submitted the proposals to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The regulatory body is now preparing a summary of the recommended adjustments, which will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance is expected to announce the new petroleum prices for the upcoming 15-day period on November 30, after consultation with the Prime Minister. The revised rates will come into effect from December 1, offering some financial relief to motorists and transport operators alike.
Officials say the adjustments reflect current global trends and could provide temporary respite for households and businesses burdened by rising energy costs.
