Pakistan to Introduce a Modern, Culturally Rich Passport Design

In a move set to give Pakistan’s travel document a completely fresh identity, the government has approved a new passport design that blends national heritage with advanced security features. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has received the green light from the Ministry of Interior to begin printing the redesigned passports soon, sources confirmed on Wednesday.

According to officials, the new passport will not only reflect a modern look but also celebrate Pakistan’s diverse culture. Each page will feature images of iconic landmarks and heritage sites from all four provinces Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan symbolizing unity in diversity.

“The goal is to present Pakistan’s story through its architecture and culture,” an official involved in the project said, adding that travelers will now carry a piece of the nation’s history and identity wherever they go.

In addition to the visual overhaul, the passport will also include cutting-edge security measures designed to curb forgery, duplication, and misuse. These features are expected to align Pakistan’s travel documents with international security standards.

Printing of the new passports will begin once the final designs and specifications receive official clearance. After rollout, the redesigned passports will gradually replace existing ones as citizens renew their documents.

Government insiders believe this initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing Pakistan’s identity documentation system one that reflects both technological progress and national pride.
