KARACHI – The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory concerning a low-pressure system developing over the southeastern Arabian Sea. Officials have assured that, for now, there is no threat to Pakistan’s coastal regions, including Karachi.
According to the latest update, the depression has been slowly drifting north to northeast over the past 24 hours and is currently positioned around 1,690 kilometers southeast of Karachi. Meteorologists expect the system to intensify slightly in the coming day, though it remains far from Pakistan’s coastline.
The Cyclone Warning Center in Karachi emphasized that the situation is being closely monitored and that any significant changes will be shared immediately with the public. Citizens have been advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and avoid relying on unverified social media reports.
At this stage, experts reaffirm that the weather system poses no immediate danger, but caution remains key as conditions over the Arabian Sea can shift quickly during this season.
