High Achievers from Sindh’s Public Colleges Honoured with E-Bikes

KARACHI:
For the first time in Sindh’s history, top-performing students from public colleges in the intermediate examinations were rewarded with electric bikes, marking a new initiative to recognize academic excellence. The award ceremony took place at the Sindh Scouts Auditorium, drawing a large gathering of education officials, teachers, parents, and students.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of Universities and Boards Abbas Baloch praised the growing transparency in the examination system. He noted that for the past two years, no major complaints had been reported regarding the intermediate results, which he described as a significant step forward for the credibility of education boards.

“For the first time in many years, board toppers have been officially recognized without dispute,” he said. “This year, almost all boards released results before the MDCAT exams, and now these outstanding students are being rewarded with scholarships a recognition they were previously denied despite their achievements.”

Baloch reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding fairness in future examinations, stressing that transparency and quality assessment remain top priorities.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), Faqeer Muhammad Lakho, highlighted that the distribution of e-bikes was part of the prime minister’s youth initiative. He underscored the importance of providing modern facilities to students, calling it a shared duty of the government and education boards to support young people in both academic and professional growth.

Lakho further announced that this programme will continue every year until 2030, ensuring that merit is consistently rewarded and students remain motivated to aim higher.
