The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a new online e-Challan portal, making it easier for drivers to cancel traffic fines that were issued by mistake including duplicate challans without visiting any office. The initiative is designed to make the process quicker, simpler, and more transparent for the public.
According to PSCA officials, the newly introduced system will save citizens from wasting time and standing in long queues at physical centres. Through this digital service, motorists can now review and challenge incorrect challans directly from the comfort of their homes.
To use the service, drivers simply need to visit the PSCA e-Challan portal, enter their vehicle registration number and CNIC, and select the “Review” option. They can then describe the issue for instance, receiving a duplicate challan for the same date and time. Once the request is submitted, PSCA staff will verify the details, and if the complaint is found valid, the incorrect challan will be cancelled.
In addition to the web portal, this feature is also available on PSCA’s official “Public Safety” mobile app, which can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices. The app not only allows users to submit review requests but also enables them to track their application status in real time.
Officials say that this digital step will help minimize system errors, accelerate case reviews, and bring more ease to vehicle owners across the province. Many motorists have welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed reform that encourages transparency and fairness.
The new initiative aligns with the Punjab government’s broader vision of digitizing public services and cutting down on unnecessary paperwork. By providing an online solution for resolving traffic challan disputes, the PSCA aims to boost public confidence and make traffic management more efficient across the province.
