Hajj 2026: Pakistan may start registrations ahead of schedule

Pakistan may kick off early sign-ups to plan for Hajj 2026,

According to sources, the process to start registration in Pakistan could get underway in the coming four or five days.

Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs stated early enrollment will be required for all pilgrims joining through government or private arrangements.

A formal notice to announce the beginning of registration is likely to be shared soon.

Applicants must pay a set token amount with their registration forms. This token money will go toward the total Hajj costs later. Authorized banks nationwide will handle the registration process. Applicants can decide between the government and private Hajj 2026 programs after registering. Sources said people who missed out on the private scheme this year must register again. The Saudi government is overseeing this process and will assign Hajj quotas based on these registrations.

This year, 1,673,230 pilgrims attended Hajj worldwide. Out of these, 1,506,576 international pilgrims came from 171 countries.

Saudi Arabia’s records show that 166,654 domestic pilgrims joined Hajj this year. This resulted in one of the most distributed gender ratios in Hajj’s history, with 877,841 males and 795,389 females. After the tragic loss of 1,301 lives last year from extreme heat that reached 51.8°C (125°F) Saudi authorities implemented widespread cooling measures.
