ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has announced a hike in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) while keeping petrol (MS) rates unchanged for the upcoming fortnight, effective from November 15, 2025. The decision follows recommendations from the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries, the Finance Division said in an official statement.
Under the revised structure, petrol will continue to be sold at Rs. 265.45 per liter, remaining steady since the last adjustment. High-speed diesel, however, has been increased by Rs. 6 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs. 284.44 per liter compared to the previous Rs. 278.44.
The Finance Division clarified that these prices will remain in effect for the second half of November. Observers note that in the previous fortnightly review, petrol was increased by Rs. 2.43 per liter, reaching Rs. 265.45 despite a sharp fall in international crude prices, while diesel had seen a Rs. 3.02 increase at the time, bringing it to Rs. 278.44.
Officials emphasized that the adjustments aim to balance domestic fuel supply needs with global market trends while maintaining stability in the energy sector.
