ISLAMABAD:
The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on Friday confirmed the arrest of journalist Khalid Jamil from his residence in Media Town, Islamabad.

According to an NCCIA statement, the detention was carried out after “completion of official procedures,” while further details about the case are expected to be shared in the coming days.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that a case had been filed against Jamil earlier this year, though no specifics have been disclosed so far.

News of his arrest quickly spread on social media late Friday evening, with fellow journalist Asad Ali Toor posting on X that officials from the FIA and NCCIA had taken Jamil into custody. from his residence in Media Town, Islamabad.
