Court Hands RAW Agent Saleem 114-Year Prison Sentence

KARACHI – September 25, 2025: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has sentenced an alleged operative of India’s intelligence agency, RAW, to 114 years in prison after finding him guilty in a case involving explosives and illegal weapons.

According to court proceedings, the accused, identified as Saleem, was arrested by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) from Karachi’s Maripur area. Officials recovered hand grenades, Awan bombs, launchers, and other illegal weapons from his possession. The court also imposed a fine of Rs150,000 and ordered that his bail be canceled immediately, sending him straight to jail.

During interrogation, Saleem reportedly admitted his links with RAW and revealed that he had traveled to India three times between 2012 and 2014. Investigators further disclosed that he had illegally crossed into Pakistan in 1989 and had managed to obtain Pakistani identity documents and passports through fraudulent means. Four Pakistani passports were recovered from him at the time of his arrest.

Prosecutors told the court that Saleem had confessed to previously living in Gujarat, India, where he worked as a rickshaw driver before being recruited. His conviction underscores the severity of the charges and the longstanding concerns over cross-border intelligence activities.
