BEIJING – In a strong call for peace, Chinese President Xi Jinping has proposed a four-point plan aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The proposal was shared by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning following President Xi’s phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where both leaders discussed the growing instability in the Middle East.
President Xi’s message was clear: the use of force is not the answer. Instead, he laid out four essential steps to de-escalate the crisis — starting with an immediate ceasefire, prioritizing the protection of civilians, encouraging direct dialogue and negotiation, and urging the international community to take an active role in peacemaking.
He emphasized that civilian lives must be safeguarded at all costs, and all parties involved must strictly follow international law to avoid further harm to innocent people. Speaking directly to the urgency of the moment, Xi called on Israel in particular to halt its military actions as soon as possible.
“Violence won’t bring peace,” he said, urging influential nations to step up and push for meaningful diplomacy. China, he added, is prepared to keep working closely with all sides to restore calm and justice in the region.
The proposal reflects China’s growing interest in playing a more active role in global conflict resolution and signals its intent to act as a constructive partner in efforts to restore stability in the Middle East.
