ISLAMABAD — In what marks a historic milestone for Pakistan’s technology and retail sector, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that Apple is officially entering the Pakistani market in December.
According to the minister, the global tech giant will make its debut through a strategic partnership with Air Link, one of the country’s leading distributors and retailers of smartphones, smart TVs, and wearable devices. This collaboration will bring Pakistan its very first official Apple Store, a development long anticipated by local consumers and tech enthusiasts.
For years, Apple products in Pakistan have only been available through unofficial resellers a situation that often led to inflated prices, lack of warranty support, and unreliable after-sales service. The official entry of Apple is expected to resolve these challenges by offering customers direct access to genuine products, authorized repairs, and dependable technical assistance.
“This is a landmark step for Pakistan’s digital economy and reflects growing confidence from global technology leaders in our market potential,” Shaza Fatima said during the announcement.
The establishment of an official Apple Store is expected to bring greater transparency to product pricing, eliminate counterfeit imports, and enhance customer trust in the market. Consumers will finally be able to purchase authentic Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, and accessories all covered under official warranties.
Industry experts believe that Apple’s arrival could significantly reshape Pakistan’s consumer electronics landscape. It is expected to increase competition, raise service standards, and potentially reduce the price gap between local and international markets.
Analysts also see this as a signal of broader opportunities ahead paving the way for Apple to introduce more localized services in Pakistan, such as Apple Pay and educational or developer programs, further integrating the country into the global tech ecosystem.
The first Apple Store is scheduled to open next month, marking the start of a new era for technology retail in Pakistan one that promises authenticity, accessibility, and renewed consumer confidence.
