Islamabad – September 2025: Travelers flying between Pakistan and the United Kingdom have received welcome news, as Virgin Atlantic has announced the resumption of its flight operations to Pakistan.
According to aviation sources, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted approval for the airline to restart services. Beginning in October, Virgin Atlantic will operate flights from London to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, routing through Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The airline had suspended its Pakistan operations in 2023, citing commercial challenges. However, with the CAA’s latest approval, flights are set to return, offering more travel options for passengers.
Industry experts believe the resumption of Virgin Atlantic flights will help ease connectivity issues faced by Pakistani travelers bound for the UK, especially after British Airways scaled back its services last year. In 2024, British Airways discontinued flights from London Heathrow to Lahore and Islamabad as part of its network review, leaving a gap in direct travel options.
Aviation officials say Virgin Atlantic’s return marks a positive development for both business and leisure travelers, providing greater flexibility and potentially competitive fares on the busy UK–Pakistan route.
