US Navy Ship USS Wayne E. Meyer Docks at Karachi Port for Joint Engagements

Karachi, September 26, 2025 — The US Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer arrived at Karachi Port on Wednesday for a two-day visit, underscoring the continuing maritime cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.

During its stay, officers and sailors from the vessel are scheduled to engage with their counterparts in the Pakistan Navy through a series of professional exchanges, joint training sessions, and operational-level discussions. Officials say these activities are aimed at boosting interoperability, building mutual trust, and improving coordination between the two naval forces.

The visit will conclude with a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the North Arabian Sea, where USS Wayne E. Meyer will sail alongside Pakistan Navy ships in a demonstration of joint operational readiness.

Defence analysts note that such visits have become a key feature of bilateral naval ties, reflecting both countries’ shared commitment to regional maritime security and stability.
