Unrestrained Dumper Claims Lives of Husband and Wife in Karachi

KARACHI – August 15, 2025:
Another household in Karachi has been plunged into mourning after a speeding dumper claimed the lives of a married couple returning from a seaside outing.

The fatal accident occurred near M.T. Khan Road in Mai Kolachi, when the heavy vehicle rammed into a motorcycle carrying the victims. Rescue officials identified the deceased as Mehar and Bilal, residents of Orangi Town. Witnesses said the couple was on their way home from Sea View when tragedy struck.

Authorities confirmed that both victims died on the spot due to the severity of their injuries. The driver of the dumper reportedly fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Karachi’s long-standing issue with reckless dumpers has once again come under the spotlight. Over the years, these massive trucks have been involved in numerous fatal accidents, with little sign of effective enforcement to curb the menace.

In one of the most harrowing incidents earlier this month, a dumper crushed two siblings 22-year-old Mah Noor and 14-year-old Ahmed Raza near Lucky One Mall on Rashid Minhas Road, leaving their father critically injured. The shocking accident sparked public outrage, with enraged citizens torching several dumpers and assaulting the driver before police intervened.

For grieving families like Mehar and Bilal’s, the calls for stricter regulation and accountability are more urgent than ever.
