ISLAMABAD:
The United Kingdom has announced £1.33 million in humanitarian assistance to help Pakistan deal with the devastating fallout of this year’s monsoon floods.
According to officials, the relief package will reach more than 223,000 people across seven flood-affected districts in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The assistance will be directed towards both immediate relief and recovery efforts. It includes the distribution of dry food supplies, deployment of search and rescue teams, setting up of mobile health camps, and the restoration of damaged drinking water systems.
British officials said the support reflects the UK’s continued commitment to stand by Pakistan during natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
