Karachi – September 19, 2025: A massive trailer rammed into three motorcycles in Karachi’s Baldia No. 2 area on Friday, leaving four people injured in a chaotic scene that halted traffic for hours.
Eyewitnesses said the 22-wheeler lost control before plowing over the bikes, trapping them beneath its wheels. Rescue officials rushed to the spot and confirmed that all four riders were taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. “The motorcycles are completely buried under the trailer,” one rescue worker told reporters. Traffic police also reached the site to manage the situation.
In a separate incident the same day, a robbery attempt in Defence Phase 2 turned violent when armed men opened fire on a father and son who resisted. The victims, identified as 45-year-old Shahid and his 22-year-old son Usama Omar, were both injured and shifted to a nearby hospital.
Earlier this week, Karachi also witnessed another fatal road tragedy on Hub River Road. A speeding dumper struck a rickshaw, killing 45-year-old Shah Muhammad and injuring three others. Shah Muhammad, who had traveled from Pishin to shop for his son’s wedding, died on the spot. The dumper driver fled the scene, while police say they are reviewing CCTV footage to track him down.
These back-to-back road and street crime incidents have once again raised questions over road safety and law enforcement in Pakistan’s largest city.
