Top Turkish Officials Arriving in Pakistan Today for High-Level Talks

ISLAMABAD – In a significant diplomatic development, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defence Minister Yaşar Güler are set to arrive in Pakistan today for a series of high-level meetings aimed at boosting bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in regional and defence matters.

According to a senior Turkish diplomatic source, the visiting ministers will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other key officials during their visit. The agenda includes discussions on strengthening political, economic, and strategic relations, with a particular focus on the defence industry.

Turkey has long maintained close and friendly ties with Pakistan, consistently voicing support for Islamabad on regional and international platforms. Ankara’s vocal solidarity with Pakistan during last May’s heightened tensions with India drew strong reactions from New Delhi, highlighting Turkey’s commitment to its longstanding ally.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Fidan is expected to reaffirm Turkey’s desire to deepen collaboration across all sectors, and to underline the importance of working together to promote peace and stability in the region. He will also emphasize the growing need for both countries to bolster their cooperation in the defence sector, the source added.

The high-level visit underscores the strategic importance both nations attach to their relationship, and is seen as part of broader efforts to align on key geopolitical and defence-related challenges facing the region.
