The fire at the Karachi retail complex has been contained.

Early on Wednesday, a shopping center on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road caught fire. After four and a half hours, firefighters were able to contain the fire.

Rescue 1122 spokeswoman Muhammad Hassan stated that the fire alert was received at 4:06 a.m. Twelve fire trucks participated in the operation overall.

He claimed that although the building had a fire alarm system, it was inoperable. The fire spread as a result. After beginning in the control room, the fire spread to other locations.

About 150 stores on the third floor were destroyed by the fire, according to the spokeswoman. Parts of the first and second levels were also impacted. When the fire began, security personnel were inside the structure. As a precaution, residents of the surrounding apartment complex evacuated their residences.

The apartment building remained safe, and no one was harmed. The firefighters cooled the area after extinguishing the fire.

A shortage of water presented some difficulties for the operation, according to Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan. Eleven fire vehicles and two snorkels were assisting in the firefight, he said.

According to rescue personnel, the retail center’s third story and roof were damaged by the fire, harming stores and offices. Although it wasn’t as intense, the fire also made its way to the first and second levels.

A facility in the Landhi Export Processing Zone caught fire in the early hours of this month. Rescue 1122 officers say that due of combustible materials, it spread and caught three other enterprises.
