Tessori Declares Friday as ‘Thanksgiving Day’ to Celebrate Gaza Peace Deal

KARACHI — Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced that Friday will be observed as a ‘Thanksgiving Day’ across the province to express gratitude over the recently concluded Gaza peace agreement.

In a statement on Thursday, Governor Tessori said that special prayers and Nawafils will be held in mosques across Sindh to thank Almighty Allah for the restoration of peace in Gaza. He said the initiative aims to express solidarity with the people of Palestine, who have endured immense suffering during the conflict but are now celebrating a long-awaited breakthrough toward peace.

“The people of Pakistan have always stood by their Palestinian brothers and sisters. Friday will be observed as a day of gratitude and reflection, as we thank Allah Almighty for this positive step toward ending the bloodshed in Gaza,” Tessori remarked.

He further commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s participation in the Gaza peace agreement ceremony, calling it a “symbol of Pakistan’s unwavering support” for the Palestinian cause on the international stage.

Governor Tessori also revealed that US President Donald Trump praised Pakistan’s efforts, particularly acknowledging Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing a key mediating role in facilitating the peace process.

“This peace deal has once again demonstrated Pakistan’s commitment to global harmony and justice,” Tessori added, expressing hope that the agreement will pave the way for lasting stability in the Middle East.
