Shaheen Afridi Sets New Milestone as Pakistan Storms into Asia Cup Final

Dubai, September 26, 2025 — Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi once again proved his match-winning credentials, delivering a stellar performance against Bangladesh to secure his side’s place in the Asia Cup 2025 T20 final.

In a high-pressure Super Four clash at the Dubai International Stadium, Pakistan edged Bangladesh by 11 runs after defending a modest total of 136. Bangladesh, chasing hard, could only manage 124 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Shaheen Afridi was the standout performer, picking up three wickets for just 17 runs, dismantling Bangladesh’s middle order at crucial moments. Speaking after the match, head coach Mike Hesson praised the team’s fighting spirit and resilience. “It was a tough pitch to bat on, especially in the early overs. But Shaheen showed real discipline with the ball and delivered exactly what we needed,” Hesson told reporters.
