According to the Health Department, the patient is a 28-year-old man who began developing symptoms on September 15. Officials said the man had recently returned from Dubai and admitted to having sexual contact with another male partner.

Doctors reported that the patient presented with severe lesions and wounds on multiple parts of his body, including the face, hands, feet, throat, and anus. Laboratory samples have been collected and sent for confirmatory testing.

A Health Department spokesperson said that contact tracing is already underway, and individuals who may have been exposed are being closely monitored. Authorities added that precautionary measures are being reinforced to contain the infection and prevent further transmission.
