ISLAMABAD – In another gesture of friendship and solidarity, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a large-scale project to distribute premium-quality Saudi dates among vulnerable families across Pakistan.
The initiative, formally inaugurated in Islamabad on Wednesday, will reach communities in all provinces and regions including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The program is being implemented in partnership with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), ensuring that assistance directly reaches those most in need.
According to KSrelief, the project specifically targets families affected by recent floods and economic hardships, aiming to help meet their basic nutritional requirements. Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki officially launched the initiative at a ceremony attended by senior government officials, diplomats, and representatives of humanitarian organizations.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Al-Malki said the program reflects the “deep-rooted friendship, brotherhood, and humanitarian partnership” between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He emphasized that KSrelief’s ongoing efforts are guided by the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in times of need.
Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, expressed gratitude to the Saudi government and KSrelief for their continued generosity and partnership. He noted that PBM would ensure the fair and transparent distribution of dates to the most deserving families nationwide.
“Saudi Arabia has always stood by Pakistan in times of crisis from flood recovery to healthcare, education, and livelihood support,” Butt said, adding that such collaborations continue to strengthen the bonds between the two nations.
Over the past years, KSrelief has played a major role in Pakistan’s humanitarian landscape, contributing to projects aimed at disaster recovery, food security, and sustainable development. Just a day earlier, the organization also launched a new initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on improving livelihoods and food security through livestock distribution and training for rural households.
Through projects like these, Saudi Arabia continues to reaffirm its role as one of Pakistan’s most consistent and trusted humanitarian partners a relationship built not only on shared faith and friendship but on a lasting commitment to human welfare and dignity.
