Saudi Arabia’s GO Group to Launch AI Hub in Pakistan, Strengthening Digital Ties with Riyadh

ISLAMABAD — In a move set to deepen technological cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s GO Telecommunications Group has announced plans to establish the GO AI Hub Pakistan in October 2025. The initiative aims to advance collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and innovation, marking a major step forward in the two nations’ growing digital partnership.

The announcement came following a high-level meeting at GO Group’s headquarters in Riyadh between Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and senior executives of the company, according to an official statement released on Saturday.

During the discussions, both sides explored ways to enhance cooperation in data centre development, technical training, and capacity building, with a shared commitment to promoting regional connectivity and technological progress. Officials said the upcoming AI hub would serve as a key platform for knowledge exchange and the co-creation of digital solutions, fostering innovation through collaboration between Saudi and Pakistani experts.

Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised GO Group’s expertise in AI, cybersecurity, and data-driven technologies, calling the partnership “a vital contribution to Pakistan’s journey toward digital transformation.” She reaffirmed that the initiative aligns closely with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Nation Vision Pakistan,” which aims to position the country as a regional centre for technology and innovation.

Industry analysts view the project as a milestone for Pakistan’s growing digital economy, offering opportunities for skill development and foreign investment in emerging technologies. The official launch ceremony, scheduled for later this month, is expected to be attended by senior government officials, business leaders, and tech innovators from both countries symbolizing a new chapter in Saudi-Pakistan cooperation in the digital age.
