Punjab Government Launches Pakistan’s First AI-Powered Eco-Chatbot “EcoBot”

In a move aimed at raising environmental awareness, the Punjab government has unveiled EcoBot, Pakistan’s first AI-powered eco-chatbot designed to provide real-time information on air quality and offer practical guidance to protect public health.

The digital assistant is accessible via WhatsApp by simply scanning a QR code, making it user-friendly for the general public. Citizens can interact with EcoBot in both English and Urdu, enabling the chatbot to share Air Quality Index (AQI) readings, health advisories, and short awareness messages tailored for everyday use.

Initially, EcoBot offers updates for major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan. Government officials have confirmed that new features will be rolled out soon, covering noise pollution levels, waste management tips, and even a function for citizens to report environmental violations directly through the platform.

Authorities believe this initiative will strengthen the bond between citizens and environmental agencies, encouraging communities to collaborate more effectively toward a cleaner and greener Pakistan.
