President Zardari to Attend World Social Development Summit in Doha

ISLAMABAD — President Asif Ali Zardari is set to embark on a four-day official visit to Doha today to take part in the World Summit for Social Development, an international gathering aimed at accelerating progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Hosted by Qatar, the summit will bring together global leaders to adopt the Doha Political Declaration, reaffirming their commitment to advancing social justice, equality, and human dignity worldwide.

President Zardari is scheduled to address the summit on Tuesday, where he is expected to emphasize the importance of global cooperation to promote inclusive social progress and a more equitable international financial system particularly one that supports the Global South.

During his address, the President will also highlight Pakistan’s initiatives and accomplishments in key areas such as poverty reduction, healthcare, education, and sustainable growth.

In addition to his participation in the summit, President Zardari will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines, focusing on strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic ties.

The visit reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to global collaboration for a fairer and more sustainable world order.
