PIA Suspends Flights to Gulf Amid Regional Tensions

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has temporarily suspended its flights to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai following rising tensions in the region. The decision comes after Iran reportedly launched missile attacks targeting U.S. military bases in several Gulf countries.

In a statement, the PIA spokesperson said the safety of passengers is the airline’s top priority. “Given the current conflict-like situation, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel flights to ensure everyone’s safety,” the spokesperson said.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being rebooked on alternate routes where possible. PIA has advised all travelers to check their flight status before heading to the airport and to stay in touch with the airline’s call center for the latest updates.

“We understand this causes inconvenience, but our focus is on keeping our passengers and crew safe during this uncertain time,” the airline added.

Flights will resume once the situation stabilizes and it’s deemed safe to operate in the affected areas.
