Pakistan’s Armed Forces Reaffirm Unwavering Support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

RAWALPINDI

On the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, Pakistan’s top military leadership reiterated its firm and unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), pledging solidarity with their decades-long struggle for freedom and self-determination.

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, alongside the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, expressed full backing for Kashmiris in their legitimate pursuit of rights promised under international law and the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military leadership condemned the Indian state’s continued occupation of IIOJK, calling it a blatant violation of global norms and human rights.

“The armed forces of Pakistan fully support the just and ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination,” the statement read.

The ISPR further underscored the grave situation in the region, pointing to India’s persistent military siege of the valley, systemic suppression of civil liberties, and attempts at demographic changes—moves widely viewed as efforts to alter the Muslim-majority character of the territory.

“These actions not only defy international humanitarian standards but also represent a serious threat to peace and stability across South Asia,” the statement noted.

Military officials stressed that New Delhi’s aggressive policies—marked by its hardline rhetoric, coercive tactics, and refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue—are fueling instability and prolonging the suffering of innocent Kashmiris.

The armed forces firmly asserted that a lasting peace in the region is impossible without a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute, echoing Islamabad’s long-held position that the issue remains central to regional harmony.

As Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal, marking five years since the abrogation of Article 370 by India, the military’s message stood clear: Kashmir is not forgotten, and Pakistan will continue to stand by the Kashmiri people in their quest for freedom.
