Iranian sources confirmed air defenses responded near the Khondab nuclear site known as Arak.
Iran launched a fresh missile barrage towards Israel hitting several locations and damaging a hospital. In response, Israel launched an attack on Iran’s Arak heavy water nuclear reactor. This marks the seventh day of escalating attacks between the two nations.
On Thursday, rescuers worked to assist victims after an Iranian missile struck the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, a city in southern Israel. Iran claimed the strike had aimed at a military location.
Reports stated that Iranian missiles struck at least six other spots. These included Tel Aviv and two of its areas called Holon and Ramat Gan. Emergency responders mentioned that over 50 people got hurt. Among them, four were injured.
The Israeli military said its jets attacked many sites in Iran. One of these was an unfinished heavy water nuclear reactor named Arak but now called Khondab.
The military noted that it aimed at “the reactor’s core seal,” which is crucial in making plutonium.
Iranian outlets said air defenses activated near the Khondab nuclear site. They also noted that two missiles hit areas close to the facility.
Iranian state TV reported that officials evacuated people before the strikes happened, and they found no signs of radiation or injuries. They did not say anything about damage.
The strikes took place as the two nations exchanged fire for the seventh day. On Friday, Israel had launched a large-scale attack on Iran’s military bases and nuclear sites, which killed high-ranking officers and important nuclear experts.
Iran answered that attack with its own air strikes on Israel. The situation has now escalated to target civilians, including homes and oil and gas facilities.
