In a significant facilitation for Pakistani pilgrims planning to attend Arbaeen Chehlum this year, Iran has announced that it will issue free visas, including double-entry visas, for the occasion.
According to the official announcement, visas will be issued from the 1st to the 16th of Safar. The waiver means that pilgrims will not have to pay any visa fees during this period.
However, authorities have clarified that only those pilgrims travelling with officially registered caravans will be eligible for this facility. Each caravan will be responsible for arranging its own buses for the overland journey to Iran.
Furthermore, Pakistani pilgrims must obtain their Iraqi visa before applying for the Iranian visa to ensure a smooth travel process. In addition to the visa waiver, the cost of travel insurance for Arbaeen pilgrims has also been reduced by half, easing financial burdens for those undertaking the spiritual journey.
