Good News: Government to Refund Rs. 3.45 Billion to 2025 Hajj Pilgrims

In a major relief for Pakistani pilgrims, the government has announced that it will refund a total of Rs. 3.45 billion to over 66,000 people who performed Hajj in 2025. The refunds have been made possible due to savings from accommodation, meals, and transportation expenses incurred during the pilgrimage.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, each pilgrim will receive a refund ranging between Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 110,000, depending on the category of facilities they had opted for. The ministry confirmed that all payments will be processed through direct bank transfers by October 31, ensuring transparency and ease for the recipients.

Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to make Hajj management more transparent, efficient, and fair. They added that the ministry has been closely monitoring expenditures to ensure that any surplus funds are returned to the rightful beneficiaries.

Looking ahead, the government has also unveiled details of the Hajj 2026 packages. The 40-day package will cost Rs. 1.15 million, while the 25-day package will be priced at Rs. 1.2 million. Both packages have been designed to offer better services, improved facilities, and greater convenience for Pakistani pilgrims.

In addition, next year’s pilgrims will receive travel bags, local SIM cards, and enhanced training programs to help them navigate the pilgrimage more comfortably. The ministry emphasized that these upgrades are part of a broader effort to modernize Hajj operations and ensure a smooth experience from registration to return.

Officials further noted that the successful refund process demonstrates the government’s commitment to responsible financial management. They expressed confidence that future pilgrims will benefit from even greater transparency, better coordination, and more efficient service delivery at every stage of their spiritual journey.
