Germany’s Karachi Consulate Suspends Services for Non-EU Nationals

The Consulate General of Germany in Karachi has suspended all services for non-European Union (EU) citizens, effective immediately and until further notice.

This move affects all non-EU applicants, including those who already had confirmed visa appointments. The consulate stated clearly that all such appointments have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled at this time.

Applicants impacted by this temporary suspension have been instructed to re-register through the online appointment system once services resume. No specific reason has been given for the halt, but the consulate noted that updates will be shared as the situation evolves, and expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding.

This development comes not long after Sweden resumed visa services in Islamabad earlier this month, and follows recent changes at US consulates in Karachi and Lahore, which in June began requiring F, M, and J visa applicants to make their social media accounts public.
