Germany’s Karachi Consulate Resumes Services for Non-EU Citizens After Brief Suspension

Karachi –
In a welcome development for visa applicants, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Karachi has fully resumed its operations for non-EU citizens, just days after an abrupt and indefinite suspension of services.

An official statement released on Monday confirmed that all consular and visa-related services are now back to normal.
“The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi has resumed normal operations for non-EU citizens,” the statement read.

The announcement comes after the consulate had unexpectedly suspended its services for non-EU nationals on June 28, citing undisclosed reasons. The sudden halt disrupted numerous travel and relocation plans, as all confirmed visa appointments were cancelled without prior notice or alternative arrangements. Affected applicants were instructed to re-register through the online appointment portal.

While the consulate has not elaborated on the cause of the suspension, it expressed appreciation to the public for their understanding during the disruption.
“We thank everyone for their patience and cooperation,” the statement added.

The resumption of full services marks a return to routine visa processing and consular assistance for Pakistanis and other non-EU citizens — a move that is likely to ease concerns for students, professionals, and families awaiting appointments.
