COAS praises overseas Pakistanis’ contribution to economy and global reputation

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on his official visit to the United States, appreciated overseas Pakistanis for their crucial contributions to boosting Pakistan’s economy and improving its international reputation. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday, he highlighted their efforts through remittances, investments, and achievements in different areas.

The army chief got a warm welcome from overseas Pakistanis during his visit, according to the military’s media wing. A large number of people had gathered in Washington DC to meet him. ISPR mentioned that Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Munir, while speaking with members of the diaspora shared his heartfelt thanks. He showed gratitude for the important contributions of overseas Pakistanis as representatives of Pakistan.

The overseas Pakistanis praised the armed forces for their incredible performance during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq. They admired the soldiers’ courage and skill. During their meeting with the COAS, they shared personal experiences and ideas. The COAS stressed staying connected with overseas Pakistanis and talked about the importance of teamwork to solve problems and build stronger ties, according to the military’s media team.

The discussion ended with everyone feeling motivated and focused. Both the COAS and the overseas Pakistanis agreed to join efforts to build a safer, stronger, and more thriving Pakistan.

India carried out attacks on several Pakistani cities and air bases last month following the Pahalgam attack that happened on April 22.

In response, the Pakistani armed forces launched “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” a large-scale military counteraction, on May 10. They hit multiple Indian military targets in various regions.

Pakistan claimed it shot down six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, along with several drones. The conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries lasted 87 hours and ended on May 10 after the United States stepped in to mediate a ceasefire agreement.

The clash between the two nations began after an April attack in IIOJK killed 26 tourists. India accused Pakistan of being responsible but did not provide proof.

Pakistan promoted COAS Munir to field marshal. This promotion acknowledged his fearless leadership defense of the country’s borders, and bold actions to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
