Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday issued a stern warning to India, emphasizing that there is “no space for war in a nuclearised environment” while lauding Pakistan’s “clear victory” during the May conflict with its neighbor.
Addressing a passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, COAS Munir said, “I advise and firmly caution India’s military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment.” He called on New Delhi to resolve core issues according to international norms and asserted that Pakistan will never be intimidated or coerced by rhetoric, pledging a decisive response even to minor provocations.
“The responsibility for any escalation, which could have catastrophic consequences for the region and beyond, lies squarely with India,” he warned. COAS Munir highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic capabilities ensure that any conflict would see responses far beyond the expectations of the aggressors. “Our weapon systems’ reach and lethality will dismantle any misconception about India’s geographic immunity,” he added.
The army chief recounted Pakistan’s military achievements, noting the nation’s capacity to operate effectively in both conventional and sub-conventional domains. “The armed forces, with full national support, have defended the country’s frontiers with unmatched resolve. Our recent operations during Marka-i-Haq and Bunyanum Marsoos have demonstrated professionalism and strategic competence,” he stated, referring to the four-day May conflict with India.
COAS Munir highlighted Pakistan’s military accomplishments, including targeting enemy bases and showcasing multi-domain warfare capabilities, while crediting the nation’s citizens men, women, children, and the elderly for their unwavering patriotism and resilience.
The army chief also addressed ongoing economic developments, praising the government’s efforts toward stability and noting that Pakistan’s youth and natural resources are playing a key role in shaping a promising future. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation proliferating through social media and stressed the importance of critical thinking to discern fact from fiction.
Regarding Afghanistan, COAS Munir reiterated Pakistan’s call for mutual security, urging the Afghan Taliban regime to control proxies operating from Afghan soil. “Every state-sponsored proxy threatening Pakistan will be neutralized, God-willing,” he asserted. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kashmiris’ struggle, highlighting India’s oppression in the region and promising continued diplomatic and moral backing.
COAS Munir underscored Pakistan’s role as a stabilizing force in the region, noting strengthened ties with key global and Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia, China, and the United States. He also condemned Israel’s actions in Palestine and praised Pakistan’s contributions toward peace and humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
Addressing the cadets, the army chief stressed loyalty to Pakistan and the armed forces, highlighting the unbreakable bond between the military and the people. He emphasized the importance of credible deterrence, intellectual readiness, technological advancement, and lifelong learning to meet modern threats.
He congratulated the cadets from Pakistan and friendly nations, including Malaysia, Nepal, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Yemen, Mali, Maldives, and Nigeria, for successfully completing their training. COAS Munir highlighted the PMA’s historic role in cultivating military excellence and praised the cadets’ professionalism and discipline as reflective of Pakistan’s longstanding tradition of military competence.
