ISLAMABAD — Pakistan and Bangladesh are set to deepen their defense cooperation as Bangladesh seeks Pakistan’s support to train its fighter pilots and technical staff. The initiative aims to enhance military collaboration and facilitate the exchange of expertise between the two nations.
Under the proposed agreement, experienced Pakistani instructors will provide advanced training in fighter conversion, aerial combat techniques, and aircraft maintenance. The program will cover modern fighter jets and technical systems, helping Bangladeshi pilots and technicians sharpen their skills and operational capabilities.
Pakistani trainers are widely recognized for their expertise in both Chinese and Western aviation technologies, which has instilled confidence in Bangladesh regarding the program’s quality and effectiveness.
The plan was discussed during recent high-level meetings between defense officials of both countries. Both sides agreed in principle to move forward, with a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) expected to be signed soon.
Experts say this initiative highlights the growing defense partnership between Pakistan and Bangladesh, reflecting mutual trust in each other’s operational strengths. Beyond skill development for the Bangladeshi Air Force, the program is expected to strengthen strategic ties between the two countries.
Observers consider the training effort a positive step for regional defense collaboration, demonstrating Pakistan’s capacity to support neighboring nations in building stronger, more capable armed forces. The program is expected to foster closer cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the coming years.
